Are you ready to get inspired? 🙌
Welcome back! I’m Erin Simmons—personal stylist, holistic style coach, and the woman behind Erin Simmons Styling here in Austin, TX. I help people elevate their style in a way that’s intentional, sustainable, and uniquely them.
Last week, I shared my closet cleanout process, and today I’m showing you the results: the before and after, what I decided to let go of (and why), and how I used my Summer 2025 Pinterest board as a guide.
Let’s dive into the transformation and get you inspired to curate a wardrobe that reflects your current style, energy, and life.

The Closet Before & After

Let’s be honest—my closet wasn’t a total disaster. But like many of us, I had pieces that no longer aligned with where I’m headed style-wise.
By editing my wardrobe, I was able to:
✔ See what I already own and love
✔ Feel more excited about getting dressed every day
✔ Identify what fits my seasonal inspiration
✔ Notice the gaps I want to fill
Why I Let Go of Certain Pieces
During the cleanout, I made some tough decisions. I let go of items that:
- No longer fit my lifestyle
- Felt off in terms of color or silhouette
- Didn’t support the aspirational style direction I’m cultivating for this season
Letting go isn’t about waste—it’s about making space for the wardrobe (and the self) you’re growing into.
Check-out the YouTube video for a look at some of the pieces I let go of and my “why”.
The Spring/Summer 2025 Vision Board
To help guide my editing process, I created a Pinterest board full of inspiration: light, whimsical, romantic, vintage-leaning pieces with a soft bohemian feel.
This visual tool didn’t just help me clean out—it’s also serving as a reference point as I plan outfits and future purchases (or makes!) for the warmer months ahead.
Want to create your own? Ask yourself:
- What colors, textures, and silhouettes feel exciting right now?
- What do I want my clothes to say about me this season?
What I’m Keeping: Favorite Pieces from My Closet
Here are a few pieces that made the cut and beautifully align with my seasonal style goals:
👗 A mini skirt I made—whimsical and playful, just like my board
🌸 A crochet skirt I upcycled from a never-worn dress—on theme and full of texture
🤍 A white embroidered maxi skirt—an absolute summer staple
🌼 A vintage floral skirt I’ve had for over 10 years—it feels fresh again
🧣 A collection of silk scarves—perfect as accessories or worn as tops
💗 A sheer pink skirt I made—so dreamy and vibrant
🩷 Bloomers from an Etsy maker—adorable and artisan-made
🧵 Several lightweight white tops—vintage broderie anglaise charm
🌷 A floral dress with a romantic print and unique shirring
🌼 And a shift dress I made—in the most beautiful teal hue with handmade appliqué flowers
Here are a few of the pieces mentioned above.

Each of these pieces brings joy, versatility, and alignment with my vision.
What’s on My Spring/Summer 2025 Wishlist
While I love what I have, I still want to thoughtfully add a few items. My wishlist includes pieces I want to either design and sew myself or thrift over the next few months.

I’ll be thrifting, sewing, and crafting my way through this wishlist—and sharing every step of the journey here and on YouTube.
